Quotes, surveys and pricing
How do I get an air conditioning quote in Hinckley and the Midlands?
Call 01400 000 000 or use the contact form. We talk through your rooms, how you use the space and any existing equipment. For most installs we arrange a free survey, then send a written quote covering supply, installation and commissioning.
Do written quotes include VAT and disposal of old equipment?
Quotes state what is included: units, labour, materials, commissioning and typical waste removal. If something might change after opening up (extra pipework, electrical work), we flag it at survey so you are not surprised later.
Do you charge for a survey?
Surveys for standard domestic and commercial installs are usually free and without obligation. For complex or remote sites we will say upfront if a survey fee applies and how it is credited against the job if you proceed.
Can you give a rough price from room sizes and photos?
We can sometimes indicate a budget range from dimensions and photos, but an accurate written quote normally needs a visit to check electrical supply, pipe routes, outdoor unit positions and access.
Areas we cover
What areas do you cover for air conditioning installation?
We are based in Hinckley and work across Leicestershire and the wider Midlands, including Hinckley, Leicester, Loughborough, Nuneaton, Coventry and beyond. If you are unsure, call 01400 000 000 and we will confirm travel.
Do you install air conditioning and refrigeration for businesses?
Yes. We install and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration for homes and businesses: shops, offices, pubs, restaurants, food businesses and domestic properties.
Do you work through winter?
Yes. Installation and servicing continue year round where access and weather allow. Heat pump systems are often used for efficient heating in colder months as well as cooling in summer.
Planning, noise and building rules
Do I need planning permission for an air conditioning unit?
Many domestic wall-mounted splits fall within permitted development if size and position rules are met, but listed buildings, flats and conservation areas can be different. We advise on typical positions at survey; you confirm local rules with your council if needed.
How noisy are domestic air conditioning units?
Modern indoor and outdoor units are much quieter than older kit. We discuss noise ratings and sensible positions for bedrooms and neighbour boundaries before you commit.
Can you install in flats and apartments?
Often yes, subject to lease or management rules on external equipment and penetrations. We read any restrictions with you at survey so the quote matches what is allowed.
Installation day and access
How long does a typical home air conditioning installation take?
A single-room split often completes in one day. Multi-room or commercial installs can take longer. Your quote includes an indicative schedule after survey.
Will you make holes in walls for pipework?
Split systems need a routed pipe and cable path between indoor and outdoor units. We keep penetrations neat, sleeve and seal them, and agree routes with you before drilling.
Do I need to upgrade my electrics?
Units need a suitable dedicated supply. We check the existing board at survey and state any electrical work clearly on the quote, either included or referred to a qualified electrician where required.
Servicing, warranties and repairs
How often should air conditioning be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend at least annual servicing for warranties and efficiency. Busy commercial systems may need more frequent visits. We offer one-off services and maintenance plans.
Do you repair all brands?
We repair many common split and multi-split systems. If parts are obsolete or uneconomic to repair, we explain options honestly, including replacement when that is the better long-term choice.
Are your engineers F-Gas qualified?
Refrigerant work is carried out by appropriately qualified engineers in line with UK F-Gas requirements. That covers installation, leak checks and repairs on systems we install and maintain.
Common questions we hear
Who installs air conditioning near Hinckley?
Altitude Climate Solutions supplies and installs air conditioning across Hinckley, Leicester and the Midlands, with servicing and repairs for systems we fit and many existing units.
Can air conditioning heat as well as cool?
Yes. Most split systems we install are heat pumps, so they provide efficient heating in winter and cooling in summer from the same unit.
How much does air conditioning cost to run?
Running costs depend on room size, insulation, electricity tariff and how you use the system. We size equipment sensibly and explain typical use at handover rather than quoting running costs that may not match your home.
Do you service commercial refrigeration as well as air conditioning?
Yes. We maintain and repair display fridges, cold rooms, cellar cooling and catering refrigeration alongside air conditioning systems. Planned contracts are available for busy sites.
